Serpent & Dove By: Shelby Mahurin

Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin may be my favorite read of 2019! After devouring the Discovery of Witches series at the beginning of the year and eagerly awaiting Queen Of Nothing all year, that is really saying something! However, it’s well deserved. This book literally has EVERYTHING I want in a story. Literally so well written and developed! I fell in love with Lou and Reid, their heart warming and hilarious relationship, and the world Mahurin creates! Lou, a witch in hiding, has a complicated past and when she is forced to marry her enemy, the witch hunter Reid, it could mean the end of her. When her past comes back to haunt her, truths are exposed, and hearts are torn. The most daunting question is will Reid follow his heart or his head. So, about the book! It’s a classic enemy to lovers romance set in an exciting fantasy world of witches and witch hunters. One review I read complained that it was 500+ pages long.... excuse me but, hello?!? This story

Sorcery of Thorns By Margaret Rogerson

Sorcery of Thorns By Margaret Rogerson did not disappoint! I give this book a full 5 stars, and I am so thrilled I finally picked it up! This book sat on my TBR shelf for about four months. Y’all, that was five months too long! This standalone fantasy novel is uniquely thrilling, humorous, and inspiring.   It’s a must read for all lovers of fantasy!  Elisabeth was raised in the bowels of the library vowing to protect others from the evil of magic. Nathaniel is a sorcerer and the vilest kind, or at least his cold eyes say as much. When Elisabeth has to depend on the person she has grown up despising, she learns more about herself than she ever thought possible. Elisabeth, Nathaniel, and dear, sweet Silas teach us that the world is not always what we are taught and that people do not have to become what they are labeled.     This is Rogerson’s sophomore novel, but the first story I have read by her. This world was created with such care and detail it could easily hav

On The Rocks By Kandi Steiner

On the Rocks is set in small town Tennessee, and I can’t lie and say that’s not why I chose to read it. It is my first book by this author, and I am super excited to read more by her. I followed her on Instagram, @kandisteiner, shortly after finishing this read, and I recommend you follow her on there as well! Great content and really fun person!    This book is well written, fun and a great romance! I gave it 5 fully-deserving stars. Steiner’s writing is easy to read and captures her characters intricacies, naturally causing the reader to fall in love with them. The story line was well developed and complete. Steiner conveys all the right feelings to you through her writing so that you are laughing and crying right along with our favorite people. Our main girl, Ruby Grace (love, love, love double names!) has some really great qualities. At first, I was worried that she was too young and naive to delve into too deeply, but I was wrong! Her struggles to follow th
