On The Rocks By Kandi Steiner

On the Rocks is set in small town Tennessee, and I can’t lie and say that’s not why I chose to read it. It is my first book by this author, and I am super excited to read more by her. I followed her on Instagram, @kandisteiner, shortly after finishing this read, and I recommend you follow her on there as well! Great content and really fun person!
This book is well written, fun and a great romance! I gave it 5 fully-deserving stars. Steiner’s writing is easy to read and captures her characters intricacies, naturally causing the reader to fall in love with them. The story line was well developed and complete. Steiner conveys all the right feelings to you through her writing so that you are laughing and crying right along with our favorite people.
Our main girl, Ruby Grace (love, love, love double names!) has some really great qualities. At first, I was worried that she was too young and naive to delve into too deeply, but I was wrong! Her struggles to follow the standards set for her, forcing her to put her own needs aside for her family, really resonate in the book. She shows the importance of strong will and following your dreams. Noah is absolutely to die for! Sometimes I would’ve like a little more detail on his daily life, but Steiner stuck to his family life which is true to his core values.
Steiner did a great job at highlighting the personality a small town holds as well as the normal social behaviors. Although some of the details are a little far-fetched, they fit in well with the story and general culture of the book. This book has steamy romance that will make you blush, but keep on reading!
The next book about the Becker brothers, Neat, was just released. I’m excited to get my hands on it soon! Look for that review!

Relatively Sane By Whitney Dineen

Relatively Sane By Whitney Dineen This is the second book in the relatively series by Whitney Dineen. I read it right behind the first book with little lag time between the two. If you do as I did, be prepared for a lot of re-cap. I give this book 3.5 stars rounding to a 4. Our main girl Cat is back in this romcom about the Masterson clan. She is home and looking to start a new life for herself in familiar territory. She has rekindled (kinda, you will see) her relationship with Sam and is excited about being home and with her family. Now she just needs to figure out how she's going to go from a party planner in the big apple to a career in her small hometown.  I was intending on giving this book a 3, but the ending was really good. I felt like the entire first half of the book could have been a couple chapters because it practically went over the majority of what happened in the first book. This allows for people to hop right in to the second book without having to read Relat...

Bootleg Springs Series By Lucy Score and Claire Kingsley

Y’ALL! I devoured this six book series, Bootleg Springs . I have so much I want to say about it, but I will try not to drop any big spoilers! Lucy Score and Claire Kingsley did a great job collaborating on this series. Although I believe I can tell the difference in who was the main writer in each book, the series was so well woven and consistent. I gave each of the books 5 stars on Goodreads !             The books are set in a small West Virginia town, Bootleg Springs, famous for its hard-hitting moonshine. I fell in love with the town as well as the quirky characters that gave the town its uniqueness. Our main characters are the Bodine family and their close friends. Each book follows a different set of characters, found on the beautiful covers, and the series needs to be read in order! There is an overarching storyline involving the disappearance of a teenage girl 13 years earlier, and that’s all I can say about ...

Red Rising By Pierce Brown

I am so impressed with this story,  Red Rising by Pierce Brown. It has sat in my “to-read list” for a really long time. Honestly, I’m a little thankful I waited because the anticipation waiting for the next book would have killed me with this series! I gave this book a 5/5 rating. I honestly loved it. I read the first six chapters before I went to bed, and the next day at work all I could think about was the story and how I had to know what happened. To say the least my heart was so shattered (maybe because I have a soft spot for miners…who knows!?) during that initial section. Brown did such a great job capturing the identity of his characters and making you love and need more from them. In a world separated by the color of someone’s hair, eyes, and sigils, Darrow, the lowest of the low a red, slaves in the bottoms of the mines of mars. When his life is shattered and torn upside down he, our favorite helldiver, goes through hell to face the golds and make his wife’...
